The Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha inaugurated “The Centre for Linguistics, Translation Studies, and Faculty Development” at University of Education, Lahore.
The Centre was established to bring together students, faculty, linguists, and researchers from across the university and country to explore and learn new disciplines related to language studies. There are already numerous academic and degree programs available, ranging from BS English to PhD in English (Linguistics). However, the short-intensive courses, certified diplomas and many others have been launched under the auspices of CLTSFD.
A strong international collaboration has been planned to make it a center of excellence in language studies. The Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arshad, Director, Division of Arts and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Waheed-ur-Rehman, Chairperson, English Department, Dr. Mubashir Nadeem, and all the faculty members from English Department also attended the inauguration ceremony online.
