Three PU Departments Named Among Best In QS Subject Rankings

Three departments of University of Punjab (PU) have been featured in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject 2019. PU has been ranked among the top 600 universities of the world in QS subject rankings for studying Physics and Astronomy, Chemistry, and Agriculture and Forestry.

The university is placed in the 501-500 band of top universities for studies related to Physics and Chemistry, while it named one of top 300 universities in the world for studying Agriculture and Forestry, as it was placed in the 251-300 band in that subject.

PU Vice Chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmad Akhtar praised the deans, heads of departments, faculty, staff and students for this landmark achievement. He especially appreciated the efforts of the University Ranking Committee headed by Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood that worked tirelessly to achieve this goal.

The VC has already vowed to put all resources and efforts to enhance the quality of research and teaching at PU. He said the PU administration was promoting research culture by encouraging teachers and students and due to its efforts, PU would hit new highs in the next QS ranking.
