Two-day international conference on applied physics starts at NED

While addressing the two-day International Conference on Applied Physics and Engineering organized by NED University, the Vice-Chancellor Sarosh Hashmat Lodi said that physics applies to almost the whole society while the engineering sector depends on physics.

He said that varsities should organize such international conferences on applied physics so academic and professional could understand the importance of applied physics.

The conference attended by Vice Chancellor of Sir Syed University Prof. Dr. Waliuddin, the Chairman Pakistan Regulatory Authority (PNRA) Faizan Mansoor, Director General of National Center for Physics Dr. Hafeez Hoorani and others.

Addressing the event, Prof Waliuddin appreciated the efforts of conference organizers and said that such an event will create awareness among academia and students about Applied Physics.

On the occasion, Dean Faculty of Information Sciences and Humanities Prof. Dr. Noman Ahmed said that since there has not been any valuable conference on physics for a long time, this the conference has proved to be an increase in mental maturity for physics students.

The DG National Center for Physics Dr. Hafeez Hoorani said; “We invite engineers from NED to explore research for our institute. Chairman Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority Faizan Mansoor said that organizing such a global conference in the centenary celebrations of NED was commendable. He said that the academic sessions from which social improvement is possible must be continuous.

Highlighting the importance of the conference, Dr. Irfan Ahmed, Chairman of the Department of Physics said that training sessions are urgently needed to meet the requirements of technology. This is the first conference but we intend to hold more such events.

According to the NED spokesperson, experts from four provinces of the country and seven countries attended the international conference online. In these two days, about 42 research papers will be read.
