The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) has achieved a significant milestone with the re-accreditation of its Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) programs in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunication/Electronics) and Software Engineering by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) under Washington Accord Level-II. This approval was granted during the 116th Engineering Accreditation Board (EAB) meeting held on December 18, 2024.

Similarly, the B.Sc. Software Engineering program has secured re-accreditation for two years, encompassing the 2020 and 2021 intake batches, with the latter contingent on a satisfactory compliance report.
This accreditation, achieved under the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Level-II framework, aligns UAJK’s engineering programs with international standards, ensuring global recognition for its graduates.
Prof Dr Muhammad Kaleem Abbasi, Vice Chancellor of UAJK, hailed this accomplishment as a testament to the university’s commitment to academic excellence and quality education. “This re-accreditation reflects the dedicated efforts of our leadership, faculty, and staff to enhance the quality of engineering education at UAJK,” Dr Abbasi stated.
He expressed his gratitude to Prof Dr Saadat Hanif Dar, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, as well as the Heads of Departments and faculty members, for their tireless efforts in achieving this milestone. “This success showcases the collective hard work and determination of our academic community,” Dr Abbasi added.
The Vice Chancellor reaffirmed UAJK’s commitment to maintaining and advancing the quality of its academic programs. “We are determined to ensure that AJKU remains a leader in engineering education in the region, meeting global standards and equipping our graduates to excel on international platforms,” he said.
This re-accreditation underscores UAJK’s proactive approach to upholding excellence in engineering education, paving the way for its graduates to make meaningful contributions to the global engineering profession.
