Addressing the participants, Raja Yassir Humayun Sarfraz said that UET is one of the best engineering universities in the world. Keeping in view the modern trends of technology there is a need of taking new measures in the field of engineering. Our youth is our asset, we must equip them with advanced education and technical skills. He further said that young students should come up with new and creative ideas to meet their growing demand in the market.

At this occasion Chairman PEC Jawed Salim Qureshi said that this is not a biggest pride for me that I am Chairman of PEC but the real pride is that I am an Alumni of UET. In our times, there was a little bit research work, but there were a lot of jobs, but today there is a lack of jobs in and outside Pakistan. More than 50000 engineers are jobless.

They have ideas but they don’t know how to present them. That is why our teachers should teach students how to present themselves at the end of their lecture so that students may able to express their innovative ideas. At this occasion, he announced that the PEC has announced 30 awards to encourage innovation for our students. In this context a committee of vice chancellors of Pakistan has been organized which will select topics from all domains of education and student would be working on these topics by preparing their projects. For the encouragement of Innovation PEC will award 30 prizes of Rs. 1 million each.

These awards will be given to first top 30 best projects. After that PEC will help them to register their papers, sell their projects locally and internationally. In the result the selling price will also be given to the student.
