In its relentless efforts towards advancing technology, the Electrical Engineering department of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) KSK campus recently organized a two day International Conference on Electrical Engineering & Sustainable Technologies (ICEEST2022).

The purpose of this conference was to provide an international forum for cross- fertilization of ideas from academia researchers, participating engineers, and industry representatives in areas related to electrical engineering and allied fields in general.

The conference was attended by the participants from five different countries, including United States of America, United Kingdom, Italy, and Denmark, apart from the Pakistani experts.

Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar Vice Chancellor University of Engineering and Technology, Prof Dr Nadeem Ahmed Mufti Dean faculty of Electrical Engineering department, Prof Dr Amjad Hussain, President of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Lahore Section, Prof Dr Tanveer Iqbal Campus Coordinate of UET New Campus Lahore and Dr Ali Raza Conference Chair inaugurated the conference.

The ceremony started off with a riveting recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the national anthem. The audience rose to honor as notes of the anthem were being played.

The Conference General Chair Dr Ali Raza formally inaugurated the conference with his keynote address. The President of IEEE Lahore Section Dr Amjad Hussain made his remarks upon the podium followed by the address of Engr Sameed Nasir from GM Cables – the event sponsor – who pressed for further cooperation in areas of mutual interest of industry as well as academia.

Dr Nadeem Ahmad Mufti – Dean, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, as well as the Chairman Electrical Engineering Department (New Campus) Dr Muhammad Ali and Campus Coordinator New Campus Dr Tanvir Iqbal made subsequent addresses to the conference and highlighted the importance of sustainable technologies.

In concluding session, Prof Amjad Hussain, President IEEE Lahore Section appreciated the organizing team of the conference by presenting Shields, especially the Conference Chair Dr Ali Raza, Dr Haris Anwar, Mr Rizwan Khan and Ms Isra Nazir and resolved that ICEEST will continue it’s struggle to train the engineers and researchers in the field of Electrical Engineering & Sustainable Technologies, also encouraged all the participant by awarded them 0.5CPD certification.
