As many as 224 employees of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore working on a contract basis since more than three years have been regularized after the approval of Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar on the recommendations of scrutiny committee.

A ceremony was organized by the university wherein 146 appointment letters were distributed to UET Lahore and News Campus KSK employees. The rest of the employees will get their appointment letters in their respective campuses later.

According to the notification, the employees working in BPS-1 to BPS-16 who fulfill the eligibility criteria for the posts and have at least three years continuous service at their credit have been regularized with immediate effect in the light of UET Lahore (Regularization of Service) Statutes 2022 duly approved by the Honorable Chancellor/Governor Punjab.

The beneficiaries include the employees working on minority quota and disable quota. The news created a wave of joy and happiness among the UET employees who thanked UET Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar on their regularization and resolving the long-standing issue. The Vice Chancellor advised the employees to exert themselves in their duties. He also appreciated the efforts and hard work of Scrutiny Committee, Registrar Muhammad Asif and his team that they have put in for regularization of these employees.
