Lahore: the department of polymer & process engineering, university of engineering and technology (uet) lahore signed a memorandum of understanding (mou) with tariq pipe industries.
Both the parties are desirous of promoting research and academic activities between the department and minhas pipes & fittings. This mou shall remain in effect for a period of three (03) years, under which minhas pipes will provide testing equipment worth rs 1.5 million to the department for the extension of its testing/ research facilities, while the department will provide subsidized testing facilities and minhas pipe will be able to conduct 30 tests per month at 50% discount. Minhas pipes & fittings will offer at least 2-3 internship positions for the students of the department while providing scholarships to needy students is also included in the agreement. The polymer and process engineering department will assist in resolving the technical issues of minhas pipe.
According to agreement, the parties will be obliged to share research and experience with each other in order to promote better relations between the academia and the industry. On behalf of department, associate professor dr. Farhan saeed will be authorized representative while tariq pipes industries was represented by production manager engineer haseeb zahid. Vice chancellor uet prof. Dr. Syed mansoor sarwar and ceo tariq pipes industries mr. Khaliq ahmad minhas signed the mou in the presence of chairman polymer and process engineering department prof. Dr. Asif ali qaiser.
