Synthetic Products Enterprises Limited (SPEL) Technology Support (Pvt) Limited (STS) has donated free access to educational software worth $2.7 million to the University of Home Economics (UHE). The software distribution ceremony was held at the UHE auditorium.

The Chairperson of Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Prof Dr Shahid Munir, Chairman of SPEL Technology Support (Pvt) Limited Almas Haider, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen, Vice President of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Haris Ateeq, President Women Business Professional Nizhat Nader, Registrar Shujaat Qureshi attended the ceremony.

While addressing the ceremony Almas Haider said computer software will help out students in designing projects. He was of the view that SPEL Technology Support meant to facilitate students and teachers by providing free access to Autodesk Professional Grade Software like AutoCAD, 3Ds Max, Maya, Mudbox, Flame, Fusion360, Inventor, ReCap Pro, Arnold, and Character Generator. He said, we will also extend our partnership and liaison with the University of Home Economics for future endeavors.

The Chairperson Punjab Higher Education Commission Dr Shahid Munir said that the University of Home Economics has achieved great milestones under the leadership of incumbent Vice Chancellor. He emphasized that “I believe a country cannot develop by confining women to their homes”. He also congratulated the UHE administration for getting free access to very expensive educational software which is usually not available to the students.

Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen said that the donation of these software will enrich the university’s IT resources. She said the University of Home Economics will also organize training workshops for students and teachers to make use of this software effective. The Vice Chancellor said UHE is expanding its academic programs which will help to empower women in different fields of professions. She also thanked SPEL Technology Support for providing this software.
