The Syndicate of the University of Home Economics (UHE) Lahore approved the criteria for research incentive awards for faculty members on research publications in its 11th meeting held here at the syndicate room.

The meeting was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen. The Pro-Chancellor delegated his powers of presiding over the Syndicate meeting to the VC.

Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen presented her 3rd annual report to the Syndicate and the Hon’ble members appreciated the VC for her contribution to uplifting the University of Home Economics Lahore in the last three years.

According to the approved research incentive awards criteria, the maximum amount to be awarded to an individual UHE faculty member in one financial year shall not exceed Rs 100,000, whereas individual students will be awarded Rs 20,000 with faculty publication only and publications will be considered not less than X-category in social sciences & not less than Y-category in arts, humanities and publications in dubious research journals will not be considered.

The syndicate approved the establishment of a Special Children’s Centre along with the fee structure to run it on a self-sustained basis while serving the community. This Centre will provide a 50% discount to grade 1-15 and 25 from grade 16-18 employees of the university. The Syndics appreciated the university for the establishment of said Centre.

The Syndicate also approved the format of the annual performance evaluation report of teaching and non-teaching staff of BS-17 and above with minor changes. The syndicate also approved the fee structure for MS / MPhil, PhD and post-graduate diploma programs with effect from fall 2022.

The Syndicate approved the recommendations of the three selection boards and approved the recommendations of the Finance & planning committee meeting.

The members of the Syndicate Prof Dr Khalid Hameed Sheikh, Prof Dr Rukhsana Kausar, Dr Ghazala Irfan, Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha, MPA Neelam Hayat, Dr Shehla Javed, Additional Secretary HED Punjab Shahid Zaman Lak, Additional Secretary Finance, Additional Secretary Law & Parliamentary Affairs, Registrar Shujaat Muneef Qureshi, additional Registrar Rozeena Sadiq and additional treasurer Muhammad Kashif attended the meeting.
