In a significant step towards fostering a culture of community engagement and social responsibility among students, the University of Management and Technology (UMT) Lahore’s Office of Sustainable Development Initiative (SDI) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Saya E Khuda E Zuljalal Foundation (SKZ) on May 15th, 2024. The MoU, aimed at imbuing students with the true spirit of community service, was signed by Ms. Ansa Asim, President of SKZ, and Mr. Syed M. Mustafa, Head of the Office of Participant Affairs (OPA).

The partnership between UMT and SKZ heralds a new era of collaboration in empowering students to actively participate in community development initiatives. Expressing enthusiasm about the potential impact of this alliance, both parties are eager to work closely towards achieving shared goals aimed at fostering positive change in the lives of children and families served by their respective organizations.

Under the terms of the MoU, SDI and SKZ will engage students enrolled in SDI’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) course at the University of Management and Technology (UMT) for 80 hours of community service. These service hours will encompass a diverse range of on-campus and off-campus activities, providing students with hands-on experience in value-based skill development and meaningful service to others and the community at large.

The collaboration between UMT and SKZ underscores their mutual commitment to nurturing socially responsible leaders of tomorrow and fostering a culture of civic engagement and service-oriented leadership among students. Through this partnership, students will not only gain practical skills and experiences but also contribute meaningfully to addressing pressing societal challenges and making a positive difference in the lives of marginalized communities.

As UMT and SKZ embark on this journey of collaboration, they remain steadfast in their dedication to creating a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future for all. This partnership serves as a testament to the transformative power of collective action in driving meaningful change and creating lasting impact in communities across Pakistan.
