UMT Hosts Conferences on Life Sciences and Chemistry

The University of Management and Technology (UMT) successfully organized the 2nd International Conference on Life Sciences and the 3rd International Conference on Chemistry. The events were hosted by the UMT School of Science and featured participation from renowned national and international researchers and experts. The Honorable Governor of Punjab, Sardar Salim Haider Khan, graced the conferences as the chief guest.

Distinguished attendees included UMT Rector Dr Asif Raza, DG Ahmed Abdullah, Chief Advisor Lt Gen (R) Javed Hassan, Dean Dr Samia Shahid, Dr Sohail, and a large number of international experts and students.

Researchers from countries including UK, USA, China, Turkey, Canada, Spain and others presented their scholarly papers. Over 250 research papers were showcased during the conferences, along with four hands-on training workshops. Additionally, several diagnostic labs offered free medical tests to conference participants.

Addressing the event, Governor Punjab Sardar Salim Haider Khan expressed that attending a conference on such a significant topic was an honor. He praised UMT’s efforts in promoting research activities, stating that modern research is vital for economic and industrial progress. He emphasized the need to cultivate a research-driven culture in educational institutions to ensure national growth. He also highlighted the importance of equipping youth with modern tools to prepare them for future leadership.

The Governor further stated that focusing on sectors such as agriculture could significantly improve the national economy, underlining the importance of synergy between academia and industry for research and development. “Pakistan lacks nothing—we simply need to work in the right direction,” he concluded.

UMT Rector Dr Asif Raza, in his address, welcomed the international delegates and emphasized the value of academic and cultural exchange fostered by the conferences. He highlighted UMT’s standing as Pakistan’s number one private university, playing a pivotal role in addressing societal challenges through research-based education. He underscored the importance of embracing modern science, artificial intelligence, and research as key pillars for national progress.

At the end Rector Dr Asif Raza presented a souvenir to Governor Punjab.
