UMT Hosts Workers Welfare Fund Cheque Distribution Ceremony

A cheque distribution ceremony under the Workers Welfare Fund was held at the University of Management and Technology (UMT), where scholarship cheques were awarded to children of workers studying at UMT. The ceremony was attended by the Provincial Minister for Labor and Human Resources, Faisal Ayub Khokhar, as the chief guest.

The event was also graced by Former Provincial Minister and President UMT Ibrahim Hasan Murad, UMT Advisor Lt General (R) Javed Hasan, DG UMT Ahmad Abdullah, Muhammad Usman, Secretary Labor Naeem Ghaus, Secretary Punjab Workers Welfare Fund (PWWF) Tauqeer Ilyas Chatta, Director Admin PWWF Mubeen Ali Khan, Director Finance Dr Muhammad Abubakar and a large number of students.

During the event, Provincial Minister Faisal Ayub Khokhar distributed scholarship cheques worth 400 million rupees to 500 students.
In his address, Faisal Ayub Khokhar expressed his long-standing association with UMT and thanked Ibrahim Hasan Murad for his dedication and love in educating the children of workers. He also praised Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad for his contributions to building UMT with passion and love.

The Provincial Minister shared his ongoing efforts for the welfare of workers for the past eight months. Today, I feel relieved that the scholarship program for the children of the workers has been successful. Faisal Khokhar said that the money received by the children of the workers does not belong to any government, this money is the workers’ own money. Thank God that we have been able to return the trust of the workers to the workers.

Former Provincial Minister and UMT President Ibrahim Hasan Murad, while addressing the gathering, acknowledged the efforts of the Provincial Minister Faisal Khokhar and the Welfare Board team. He stated, that today, a long-awaited issue has been resolved, and workers’ children have been given their rightful share. He shared that hundreds of students are currently studying under the Workers Welfare Fund at UMT. Providing deserving students with their rightful opportunities is a significant achievement, says Murad.

The UMT President further expressed that only 10% of people in Pakistan have access to higher education and higher education is a treasure that can change your life. I urge the students to work hard and contribute to building the Pakistan that our Quaid envisioned.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Provincial Minister Faisal Ayub Khokhar, along with Former Provincial Minister Ibrahim Hassan Murad, distributed scholarship cheques to the students.
