Birth and Education

Khurram Murad was born in 1932 in Bhopal, India. He graduated cum laude from NED University (NEDUET) Karachi, and later earned a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota.

Career and Contributions

Murad was a pivotal figure in the Islamic movement, serving as Vice-President of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan (JIP) and as President of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh (JIB). His influence extended globally; he was a Trustee and former Director General of the Islamic Foundation in Leicester, UK, and editor of notable publications such as Tarjumanul Qur’an.

He authored over thirty-five works in Urdu and English, including influential texts like The Islamic Way of Life and Islamic Movement: Dynamics of Values, Power and Change. His writings have inspired countless individuals across generations, advocating for a resurgence of Islamic values.

Legacy

Khurram Murad passed away in 1996 but left behind a rich legacy through his speeches, writings, and training programs that continue to resonate with young Muslims worldwide. His dedication to da’wah (Islamic outreach) and interfaith dialogue has made a lasting impact on the global Islamic community, promoting understanding and engagement across cultures.
