MoFEPT and UNESCO Launch Smart Classrooms in GB Girls’ Schools

The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT), in collaboration with UNESCO, has initiated an ambitious project to introduce smart classrooms in 40 girls’ schools across Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to government officials, the initiative aims to enhance education quality and provide a more interactive learning environment. In the initial phase, the program will be implemented in five districts—Nagar, Ghizer, Shigar, Diamer, and Kharmang—as part of the government’s commitment to promoting digital literacy and education, particularly for girls in remote regions.

Officials highlighted that the introduction of smart classrooms will grant students access to digital resources, interactive learning tools, and an engaging educational atmosphere. They expressed optimism that this initiative could revolutionize the educational landscape in the region, ultimately empowering young girls and enabling them to become part of the growing digital economy.

Meanwhile, Nausheen Barkat, the first female CEO of Bee Company Asqurr from Hunza, delivered an inspiring lecture on entrepreneurship at Islamabad College for Girls (F-6/2). Barkat, recognized for her financial success through strategic proposals in various Shark Tank competitions, shared valuable insights on building a self-sustaining future through entrepreneurship and innovation.

She lauded the Ministry of Education’s initiatives, emphasizing their crucial role in shaping students’ futures and providing them with the tools needed for success in an increasingly digital world. Barkat’s address resonated with students, encouraging them to embrace entrepreneurship as a pathway to financial independence and career growth.

The government’s ongoing efforts in digital education and entrepreneurship signal a progressive step toward equipping the youth, particularly girls, with the skills necessary to excel in modern industries. With continued investment and collaboration, the educational and economic landscape of Gilgit-Baltistan is set to experience a transformative shift.
