Universities students donate blood for cancer patients

Students and faculty members from different universities on Wednesday donated more than 150 pints of blood for cancer patients at blood camp held under the auspices of the Blood Donor Society of GC University Lahore.

The camp is part of week-long first All Pakistan Summit for the Students’ Societies being hosted by the GCU in collaboration with the UNESCO Creative Cities Network: Lahore-City of Literature through Commissioner Lahore, and NGOs Bargad Organization for Youth Development and Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness.

GCU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi donated his blood for cancer patients which he has also done in the previous blood camp of GCU. He appreciated the efforts of the BDS members who donate more than 2000 pints of blood every year for the patients suffering from cancer and thalassemia.

GCU-BDS Advisor Dr Babar Naseem Aasi briefed the students of other universities about the working, organization and activities of GCU Blood Donor Society.
