A week-long celebration commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) concluded on Thursday at the University of Sargodha (UoS).
The celebrations were jointly organized by the Pakistan Institute of China Studies (PICS), Confucius Institute UoS, Department of Politics and International Relations, and Institute of Art & Design.
The chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony was the Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas. The VC distributed cash prizes and certificates to the top position holders who participated in various events, including essay writing, a Chinese arts and crafts exhibition, a quiz competition, documentary contests, and an art exhibition.
Addressing the ceremony, Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas expressed his appreciation for the students’ active participation in the competitions, which aimed to deepen their understanding of Pakistan-China relations. He emphasized the importance of ensuring equal benefits from the CPEC project and proposed plans for exports and educational collaborations with China. Moreover, he highlighted the unique educational model where students receive practical education in China, contributing to the success of the academic project.
Dr Fazal Ur Rahman, the Director of PICS, stressed the significance of raising awareness among students about the importance of Pakistan and China relations. He emphasized how these competitions provide valuable opportunities for students to explore various aspects of Pak-China relations and CPEC.
