A rally was organized on the Muhammad Ali Jinnah Road, Okara, by the University of Okara in a bid to raise awareness for COVID-19 vaccination awareness among the local community. The rally was led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Muhammad Zakria Zakar. A large number of faculty members and students attended the walk. The participants of the rally were wearing shirts and caps and holding banners with motivational messages.

The rally started from the Tank Square Okara and continued for 4 kilometers. While talking to the media at the eve, the VC told, “It is the responsibility of the academia to sensitize the general public on getting the vaccine shots. With this aim in mind, we are rallying to motivate the local community to get themselves immunized so that the country can be saved from the deadly pandemic”.

According to the university spokesperson, this rally was part of the UO’s massive awareness drive that kicked off last week. The objectives of the campaign are to ensure cent percent vaccination for all the staff and students of the university and then take the message out to the towns and villages in the vicinity of Okara.

The UO is organizing a series of events including seminars, walks, community outreach and display of posters and banners in order to boost up the vaccination ratio in the district.
