UoE Forges Academic Alliance with Top Iranian Universities

The University of Education (UoE) Lahore recently solidified its commitment to academic collaboration and research by signing multiple agreements with prominent Iranian universities. A high-level delegation from Pakistan, led by Professor Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, visited Iran for this significant occasion.

Among the distinguished participants were Vice-Chancellor UoE Professor Dr Mohammad Alam Saeed along with other Vice Chancellors from renowned Pakistani universities. The purpose of their visit was to strengthen ties in education, culture, science and technology, and research.

During this educational mission, the Vice-Chancellors engaged in signing a series of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), Letters of Intent, and Letters of Academic and Research Cooperation with various Iranian universities. Professor Dr. Mohammad Alam Saeed, representing the University of Education, Lahore, inked MoUs with Alzahra University in Tehran, Al-Mustafa International University (MIU) in Qom, The Allameh Tabataba’i University (ATU) in Tehran, and Hakim Sabzevari University (HSU) in Sabzevar.

Additionally, Professor Dr. Saeed signed Letters of Intent and Letters of Cooperation with several other esteemed Iranian institutions, including Razavi University of Islamic Sciences in Mashhad, Imam Reza International University in Mashhad, D-8 International University in Hamedan, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, University of Tehran, University of Religions and Denominations in Qom, and University of Qom.

Speaking on the significance of these agreements, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Alam Saeed emphasized the pivotal role of education and research in a country’s development. He underscored that the global challenges and resource constraints faced today can only be addressed through advancements in academia and research. The University of Education, Lahore, aims to achieve mutually beneficial objectives by forging partnerships with top Iranian universities. Professor Dr. Saeed highlighted that these collaborations would foster cooperation in education, research, culture, global affairs, science and technology, as well as communication. Exchange programs for students and faculty members are expected to further enhance the collaborative efforts between the two nations.
