The University of Lahore (UoL) organized a significant seminar titled “Save Gaza,” drawing a large number of students and prominent speakers to express solidarity with the people of Palestine. The event underscored the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and emphasized the need for global awareness and action.
The seminar featured an array of esteemed speakers, each bringing a unique perspective to the discussion. Humaira Tayyaba, the founder of the Save Gaza Campaign, highlighted the dire conditions in Gaza and the importance of international support. She urged the audience to raise their voices and contribute to relief efforts.
Dr Amjad Saqib, the founder of the Akhuwat Foundation, spoke about the role of humanitarian organizations in alleviating suffering and promoting peace. He emphasized the importance of compassion and solidarity in addressing global crises.
Muhammad Ali from Youth Club energized the audience with his passionate address on the power of youth activism. He called upon students to engage in advocacy and to use social media as a tool for raising awareness about the plight of Palestinians.
Aman Ullah from EON Podcast shared insights on media’s role in shaping public perception and the need for unbiased reporting. He encouraged young journalists to cover issues like Gaza with integrity and empathy.
Qaiser Ahmed Raja, an analyst and scholar, provided a historical and political context to the Gaza conflict. His comprehensive analysis helped the audience understand the complexities of the situation and the importance of informed activism.
The seminar saw a large turnout of students, demonstrating their strong support for the Palestinian cause. Attendees expressed their solidarity with the people of Gaza through various activities, including signing petitions and pledging to participate in awareness campaigns.
The event concluded with a collective call to action, urging individuals to continue advocating for peace and justice in Gaza. The University of Lahore’s initiative reflects a growing global concern for human rights and the power of educational institutions to foster meaningful dialogue and change.
