The University of Lahore and Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) have signed a Cooperation Agreement to initiate cooperative projects for promoting the quality of higher education.
This was announced by the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).The agreement will ensure granting scholarships to students from the Member States and supporting scientific research in the Islamic world.

It may be mentioned here that ICESCO operates under the aegis of the OIC. It deals with fields of education, science, culture and communication in Islamic countries in order to support and strengthen relations among Member States. The Organization’s headquarters is located in Rabat, Morocco and its Director General is Salim M. AlMalik.
The University of Lahore is a private sector university in Pakistan with more than 35,000 students and seven campuses. It was established in 1999 and consists of 11 faculties and 35 departments.
