The University of Sargodha (UoS) organized the “Future of Education 2023” conference, on Monday, where Prof Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan was the chief guest.
The world is undergoing rapid evolution, and it is crucial for academia to adapt and anticipate the changing needs of learners and society as a whole,” stated Prof Dr Ahmed. He shared insights into the transformative role of education in Pakistan, emphasizing the need for adaptation in the face of evolving challenges.
The conference aimed to explore the changing landscape of education, tackle upcoming challenges, and uncover opportunities. Chaired by Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas, the Vice-Chancellor of UoS, the event saw the participation of academic and administrative heads from various UoS departments and offices.
Prof Dr Abbas highlighted the significance of quality education, research productivity, innovation, and collaboration in advancing the education sector. He emphasized the role of universities in providing holistic education, conducting impactful research, integrating innovative technologies and teaching methods, and fostering collaborations with academia, industry, and policymakers.
The conference served as a platform for meaningful discussions and idea exchanges, with the ultimate goal of charting a path towards a progressive and inclusive education system.
Prof Dr Mukhtar Ahmed emphasized the HEC’s commitment to promoting research, technological integration, and global collaborations. He stressed the importance of equipping students with market-oriented skills and ensuring their preparedness for the future workforce. The Chairman commended the University of Sargodha for organizing such a comprehensive conference.
The conference featured keynote speeches, presentations, discussions, and a way-forward session, covering a wide range of topics, including emerging technologies in education, student-centered learning approaches, digital literacy, and inclusive education practices.
