Usman Institute of Technology (UIT) awarded 247 degrees on Saturday at the convocation 2022 ceremony. Six students with outstanding academic performance were awarded Usman gold medals with Rupees 25,000 cash prizes. Pro Vice-Chancellor NED University Dr Tufail Ahmed presided over the convocation and awarded the degree to 247 students of UIT.
According to the detail, 129 students received Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degrees, 56 students were awarded Bachelor of Sciences Computer Science degrees, and 62 students were awarded Bachelor of Sciences Software Engineering Degrees.
Kinza Qamar from the Department of Electrical Engineering (computer system), Rehan Ejaz from the department of Electrical Engineering (Electronics), Anus Javed from the department of Electrical Engineering (Power), Syeda Muntaha Riaz from the department of Electrical Engineering (Telecom), Ubab Nadeem from the department of Computer Science and Muhammad Sumaid Siraj from the department of Software Engineering secured the first position and awarded Usman Hasham gold medals with a cash prize of rupees 25,000.
Four first-position students from the Department of Electrical Engineering also get Gold medals from the Institute of Engineering Pakistan (IEP).
While addressing the convocation, the Director of Usman Institute of Technology Dr Shoaib Zaidi said that we are the only institute in Pakistan that designed 10 microprocessor chips. He further added it is not about the size of the university nor about the size of funding, it is about how smart you can work and how well you think that is what often makes you win.
Pro Vice Chancellor NED University Dr Tufail Ahmed also congratulated the students and said Its equally very proud moment for both universities, no doubt Usman Institute of Technology which was earlier affiliated with NED University had maintain the quality of education.
Registrar NED University Ghanzanfar Hussain, Board Members of Usman Memorial Foundation & Chancellor UIT University Qasim Hasham, Vice-chancellor UIT University Dr Johar Ali, Mr. Samir Hoodbhoy and honorable professionals Deans and Faculty members of NED University and UIT were also present.
