The University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Lahore is set to host its highly anticipated 20th Annual Sports Day on February 28th, 2024, at the City Campus Sports Ground.
In a recent meeting chaired by Director of the Sports Board UVAS, Rana Amjad Iqbal, conveners of various management committees gathered to review and ensure the smooth preparations and arrangements for the upcoming event. Each committee provided updates on their progress, ensuring that all aspects of the event are meticulously organized.
A highlight of the occasion will be the presence of esteemed guest Secretary of Livestock & Dairy Development Department Punjab, Muhammad Masood Anwar, who will grace the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest, adding prestige to the event.
The sports day promises an array of thrilling competitions, catering to the diverse interests and talents of the participants. Events scheduled include traditional track and field activities such as 800, 200, and 100-meter races, shot-put, javelin throw, long jump, triple jump, discus throw, high jump, as well as engaging team competitions like the 4 X 400 Meter Relay Race, tug of war, and various indoor games like badminton and table tennis.
Students representing various departments from UVAS Ravi Campus Pattoki, CVAS Jhang, CVAS Narowal, and City Campus Lahore are anticipated to participate enthusiastically alongside staff and faculty members. The inclusion of martial arts and gymnastic showcases further adds to the excitement of the day.
