LAHORE: President Arif Hussain Alvi has appointed Vice Chancellor Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) Prof Dr Bushra Mirza (T.I.) as a member of the board of governors of International Islamic University Islamabad(IIUI).
Dr. Bushra Mirza is an eminent educationist and is serving as the VC LCWU. She was earlier the Head of Biochemistry Department at Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad. She completed her education at Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad with distinction. Achieved Gold Medal in MSc and M.Phil. She chose Cambridge University for her PhD and is a postdoctoral graduate of the University of North Carolina.
She has extensive teaching experience at the university level and has been awarded the Medal of Distinction by the Government of Pakistan for her services in this regard. She is the Chairperson of the ISESCO Women’s Chair for Science. She was also awarded Pakistan Academy of Sciences Gold Medal as well as the Best Young Scientist Award by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. She was also nominated as a member of the special committee for formulating recommendations on education.
She is also a member of the high-level committee set up by the Chancellor to review the status of sub-campuses of universities in Punjab. Her position in the field of research needs no introduction. She has supervised 25 PhDs and more than 133 M.Phils. She has published more than 200 research papers. Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza is also a member of the selection boards of various public and private universities and other important committees.
