VC Sargodha University Meets Governor Punjab

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Sargodha (UoS), Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas, met with the Governor of Punjab and the Chancellor of the University, Sardar Saleem Haider.

During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor briefed the Governor on the ongoing educational, research, and developmental programs at the university, He informed that the university has been ranked as the number one university in Punjab and the second in Pakistan by a reputable global ranking institution.

Dr Qaisar Abbas mentioned that the university currently has over 25,000 students, with an equal number in affiliated colleges, The Vice-Chancellor also briefed about initiatives to transform students into entrepreneurs through the university’s incubation center. He revealed plans for establishing a technology park to benefit the students and a successful faculty training program to compete in the modern educational world.

The Vice-chancellor also highlighted the university’s self-sufficiency projects, including the transition to solar energy. He highlighted international collaborations, including recent agreements with various companies and institutions in China.

Sardar Salim Haider stressed the need for good teaching, quality researchers, and forward-thinking students to advance Pakistan’s reputation globally. He assured continued support for projects benefiting the region and the country, underscoring the real purpose of establishing universities. He further said the University of Sargodha is not only enhancing its own standards but also contributing significantly to Pakistan’s global academic standing.
