Wrestling competitions in the Talent Hunt Youth Sports League, hosted by Sindh Agricultural University (SAU) in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), have started at the University Sports Complex.

The Sindh Region Wrestling event was inaugurated by Dr Fateh Marri, Vice Chancellor SAU, Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon, Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad, Muhammad Daud Pirzada, Additional Commissioner, Pakistan Customs, and Col. Salman Rasheed Wing Commander of Pakistan Rangers. Players from Karachi, Larkana, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Jacobabad and Shaheed Benazirabad are participating in these competitions.

Addressing the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Dr Fateh Marri said that sports programs are being organized in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission, and the successful players from here will be included in the provincial team, who will later take part in competitions at the national level.

Hyderabad Commissioner Nadeem-Ur-Rehman Memon said that the Sindh Agriculture University was giving much importance to indoor games besides promoting ground games, it is hoped that the winning youth will represent the country in sports.

Wing Commander of Pakistan Rangers Col. Salman Rasheed said that the youth of universities should participate in sports more and more, such activities will promote a healthy environment, and the Sindh Agriculture University organizes the best sports activities.

On the first day of the opening match of the Wrestling League, Salman of Hyderabad defeated Aziz of Sukkur in the 57 kg category, Shayan of Karachi defeated Sohail Abbasi of Larkana, in 61 kg category Muhammad Usman of Hyderabad defeated Hafeezullah of Sukkur and Ziaullah of Karachi defeated Abdul Sami of Larkana, in 65 kg category Muhammad Shoaib of Hyderabad defeated Aqeel Sarwer of Sukkur, while Amir Ali of Larkana defeated Asif Ali of Karachi. In the 70 kg category, Abdul Sami of Sukkur defeated Jai Ram of Hyderabad and Hamza Khan of Karachi defeated Hafeez-Ur-Rehman of Larkana. In the 74 kg category, Muhammad Sami of Hyderabad defeated Gul Bahar of Sukkur.

During the Wrestling League Championship, Dr. Jan Muhammad Marri, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Sub Campus Umerkot, Dr. Qamar-ud-Din Chachar, Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Khooharo, Dr. Syed Ghiyas-ud-Din Shah, Dr. Altaf Siyal, Dr. Manzoor Ali Abro, Anwar Hussain Khanzada, Shaukat Ali Sangi, Muhammad Umar Dasti and others were also present.
