29 Textbooks Out: Punjab Begins Major Education Reform Drive

The Punjab Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) has launched a major initiative to overhaul the curriculum for the upcoming academic year, announcing the replacement of 29 textbooks for middle and high school classes.

According to a report by 24NewsHD, the updated curriculum will impact students from Grade 6 to Grade 9. Grade 9 will see the most extensive changes, with 18 subject textbooks scheduled for complete replacement as part of the reform.

PECTAA has formally notified all schools of the decision and has begun work on developing the new learning materials. The authority has also instructed publishers to initiate preparations for new printing orders to ensure that the revised textbooks are available well before the start of the next academic session.
