In a significant move to stabilize the higher education sector, the Government of Balochistan has released more than Rs. 857.53 million to ensure timely payment of salaries and pensions across public sector universities for March 2026.
The funds, approved through a formal notification by the provincial finance department, aim to prevent financial disruptions in universities and provide much-needed relief to faculty members, administrative staff, and retirees. The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining operational continuity and institutional stability in the province’s academic landscape.
Among the beneficiaries, University of Balochistan received the largest share, amounting to Rs. 289.32 million. The allocation reflects the university’s scale and central role in higher education within the provincial capital, Quetta.
