Two leading universities from Pakistan have been named finalists for the Times Higher Education- THE Awards Asia 2026, marking a significant achievement in a fiercely competitive regional field.
The awards shortlist, dominated by institutions from Thailand (16 nominations), India (12), and Hong Kong (9), includes Beaconhouse National University (BNU) and the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). They stand among 80 finalists from 17 countries and territories, selected from over 500 entries.
BNU has been shortlisted for both Outstanding Contribution to Environmental Leadership and Research Project of the Year in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. LUMS is recognized in the categories for Outstanding Support for Students and Research Project of the Year in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
“The shortlisted entries reflect the diversity and depth of higher education across Asia, highlighting strong performance across teaching, research, innovation, and community engagement,” said Times Higher Education editor Chris Havergal.

The winners will be unveiled at an awards ceremony in Hong Kong on April 22, coinciding with the start of the THE Asia Universities Summit, hosted in partnership with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
