In a move highlighting the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf Said Al-Malki, inaugurated four buses donated by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI).
The inauguration ceremony, held at the university’s new campus, was attended by IIUI Vice Presidents, Saudi faculty members, and senior university officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Al-Malki described Pakistan-Saudi Arabia ties as “exemplary and acknowledged worldwide.” He added that the IIUI holds a special place in Saudi Arabia’s heart, symbolizing the deep-rooted connections between the two brotherly nations.
IIUI President, Prof Dr Ahmed Saad Alahmed, extended heartfelt gratitude to the Saudi government for its continued support. He said such contributions not only strengthen bilateral relations but also enhance the university’s infrastructure, benefiting both students and faculty.

Earlier, Syed Hassan Aftab, Director of the Central Transport Unit (CTU), briefed the ambassador on the university’s transport facilities. The newly gifted buses are expected to significantly ease commuting challenges for the IIUI community.
