In a landmark step to protect the educational future of flood-hit families, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved a comprehensive relief package aimed at easing the financial burden on students from the most affected districts.
Under the initiative, all university students belonging to flood-impacted areas will receive a complete waiver of semester fees. In addition, first-year BS students enrolling this year will not be required to pay admission fees.
The Punjab government has also announced an extension of 20 days for university registration in beneficiary districts, ensuring no student is left behind due to administrative hurdles. Similarly, the deadline for the Honhar Scholarship program has been extended by one month, giving applicants more time to secure financial support.
Officials noted that the measures are designed to minimize educational disruption while providing immediate relief to parents struggling with the aftermath of the disaster.
