Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) and Istanbul Technical University (ITU)’s Technopark (ITU ARI Teknokent) have signed landmark Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. The agreements were inked by Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam, Vice Chancellor of GCUF, and Prof Dr Attila Dikbaş, General Manager of ITU ARI Teknokent, one of the world’s leading business incubation and entrepreneurship development centers.
The partnership lays out a broad framework for collaboration, focusing on sustainable development, commercialization of technology, industry-academia linkages, and the promotion of an entrepreneurial culture. A major component of the agreement includes the establishment of an Innovation Center and Technology Park at GCUF, aimed at bridging academic research with industrial application.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam emphasized the significance of the MoUs, noting that they will help transform Faisalabad into a hub of innovation and research excellence. He said the initiative will not only foster entrepreneurship but also accelerate knowledge sharing, strengthen research collaborations, and contribute to Pakistan’s sustainable development goals.
