The Department of Information Technology at Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) organized a Three-Minute Thesis Competition and Thesis Display, highlighting the innovative research contributions of its students.
Vice Chancellor GCUF Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam, accompanied by Dean Faculty of Physical Sciences Prof Dr Kaleem Khan Khosa and Chairperson IT Department Prof Dr Maryam Rehman, visited the exhibition and interacted with students.
The event featured a wide range of projects including sentiment analysis using multi-modalities, multi-agent based diagnosis systems, automatic speech recognition, ensemble-based food waste classification, liver tumor detection, dental caries classification, Mpox classification, energy expenditure analysis, and heart disease detection.
Commending the students’ efforts, Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam underscored the importance of applied research in solving real-world problems. He emphasized that such initiatives not only enrich academic standards but also build Pakistan’s strength in science, technology, and innovation.

On the occasion, the Vice Chancellor also inaugurated a newly established Computer Lab at the IT Department, aimed at enhancing digital learning and research opportunities at GCUF.
