Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) celebrated its 5th convocation with great enthusiasm and prestige. The event was graced by the Federal Minister for Water and Petroleum, Dr Musadik Malik, as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Musadik Malik congratulated the graduates on their remarkable achievement. He emphasized the indispensable role of educated women in national progress, stating that institutions like GCWUF are instrumental in providing high-quality higher education to the daughters of Pakistan. He reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting education and skill development for women, acknowledging their vital contribution to the country’s growth.
Vice Chancellor of GCWUF, Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, also addressed the attendees. She reaffirmed the university’s mission to equip students with modern education and skills to contribute effectively to the nation’s development. Highlighting the institution’s academic achievements, research advancements, and development projects, she emphasized its distinguished standing in the higher education sector.
The ceremony witnessed the awarding of degrees to 2,785 students, including 9 PhD graduates, 52 MPhil graduates, 70 ADP/B.Ed graduates, and 2,654 BS graduates. Additionally, the university recognized outstanding academic excellence by awarding gold medals to 33 students, silver medals to 29 students, and bronze medals to another 29 students.
The convocation was attended by renowned academicians, industrialists, business professionals, and other esteemed guests, making it a momentous occasion. The event not only celebrated academic success but also reinforced the university’s commitment to fostering future leaders and professionals for the nation.
