Hazara University (HU) and Tang Chinese International Education (TCIE), China, signed a memorandum of understanding on January 14, 2026, aimed at strengthening academic and technical collaboration under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The MoU signing ceremony was held at Hazara University, Mansehra. The university delegation was led by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ikramullah Khan, while the TCIE delegatio
n was headed by Mr Song Jianying. The agreement formalizes cooperation in areas including joint degree programs, short professional and technical training courses, and the introduction of a structured Chinese language program for students.
Following the signing ceremony, certificates were awarded to Hazara University students who successfully completed various online and short-term technical courses offered through TCIE. University officials said these initiatives are designed to enhance employable skills, broaden academic exposure, and strengthen educational linkages between Pakistan and China.
The Vice Chancellor was accompanied by Dr Masroor Bangash, Dr Tariq Mahmood, Dr Zubair Alam, and Dr Anwar Ali from the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC). The TCIE delegation included Mr Rayed Khan and Ms Zora.

Speaking on the occasion, Hazara University officials emphasized that the partnership aligns with the institution’s long-term strategy to promote international academic cooperation and develop a skilled workforce in line with emerging global and regional needs. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to sustained collaboration for mutual benefit in the years ahead.
