HEC Conducts Pilot Quality Review at SBBWU Peshawar

The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has successfully completed a Pilot Review of Institutional Performance and Enhancement at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) Peshawar, held from January 26 to 28, 2026, in accordance with the Pakistan Standards and Guidelines (PSG) 2023.

The comprehensive three-day review was carried out by a distinguished peer review panel led by Prof Dr Tausif Ahmad Rajput, along with senior academicians representing leading universities from across Pakistan. The panel evaluated the university’s performance against sixteen key standards covering strategic planning, academic quality, governance, and overall institutional development.

As part of the review process, the panel conducted an in-depth assessment of official documents and engaged in extensive interactions with students, faculty members, administrative staff, representatives of affiliated colleges, and university management. The exercise also included visits to academic departments and residential facilities to gain firsthand insight into the institution’s learning environment and infrastructure.

The pilot review reflects QAA-HEC’s continued commitment to fostering a strong quality culture within higher education institutions nationwide. The initiative was carried out under the leadership of Director General QAA, Mr Nasir Shah, reaffirming HEC’s focus on continuous improvement and accountability in the higher education sector.
