The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has successfully completed the Review of Institutional Performance and Enhancement (RIPE) at NED University of Engineering and Technology (NEDUET) Karachi, from January 6 to 8, 2026, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen quality assurance across Pakistan’s higher education sector.

The RIPE exercise is a key component of HEC’s national quality assurance framework, designed to enhance governance, academic standards, and overall institutional performance in public and private universities. The review at NED University was carried out by a high-level panel led by Prof Dr Fazal Khalid, SI, Rector of the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI), along with senior academic leaders from leading universities across the country.

During the three-day visit, the panel conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the university’s academic programs, governance and management structures, quality assurance systems, student support services, and physical infrastructure. The assessment aimed to identify strengths, areas for improvement, and opportunities for further institutional development.

The review concluded with an exit meeting in which the panel shared its preliminary observations with the university’s senior management. The panel appreciated NED University’s strong academic and administrative practices, noting the institution’s clear commitment to excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
