HEC Sends Off 221 Agriculture Graduates to China

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan hosted a grand send-off ceremony for 221 agriculture graduates selected for advanced training in China under the Prime Minister’s Initiative for “Capacity Building of 1,000 Agriculture Graduates.”

The program marks a major milestone in Pakistan’s efforts to modernize its agricultural practices and strengthen its human capital in the sector. Supported by the Ministry of National Food Security and Research, the initiative aims to equip young professionals with cutting-edge expertise to address key challenges in agriculture and ensure sustainable food security.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Muhammad Raza Chohan, Advisor (HRD), HEC, highlighted that the program is a direct investment in Pakistan’s future. “This initiative not only enhances the technical competence of our young professionals but also strengthens the enduring partnership between HEC and Chinese universities,” he said.

The comprehensive training in China will focus on high-impact areas crucial for the transformation of Pakistan’s agriculture sector, including Precision Agriculture, Climate-Resilient Farming, Seed Breeding and Biotechnology, and Water Resource Management.
