The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) marked Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day with a two-week-long celebration that transformed its campus into a vibrant hub of national pride, culminating in a grand ceremony on August 14, 2025. Adorned with lights and Pakistani flags under the theme “Marka-e-Haq: 78th Independence Day Celebrations,” the event brought together students, faculty, and families in a spirited display of unity.
Festivities kicked off with an essay writing competition and declamation contest, followed by a poetry session and Mushaira featuring renowned professors from across Karachi. The patriotic atmosphere extended to friendly competitions in padel, snooker, and badminton, as well as a campus-wide walk and a plantation drive, reinforcing IoBM’s commitment to a sustainable and greener Pakistan.
The main ceremony on August 14 began with a guard march-in and the hoisting of the national flag by IoBM President Talib Syed Karim and Vice President FHE & Chief Advisor Sabina Mohsin. The national anthem echoed through the campus as attendees stood in reverence.
In his address, Talib Syed Karim paid tribute to Pakistan’s founding fathers and the sacrifices made during the 1947 migration. Urging the youth to value freedom and take responsibility for their nation’s future, he praised their immense potential to lead Pakistan to new heights. He emphasized that Independence Day should not be confined to August 14 but celebrated as a lifelong commitment to the country’s progress.
