IoBM Selected for Institutional Governance Review Under HEDP

The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) has been chosen by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, under the World Bank–funded Higher Education Development Project (HEDP), to participate in a comprehensive Institutional Governance Review alongside 46 other higher education institutions.

The initiative is designed to enhance institutional autonomy, strengthen governance systems, and introduce stronger accountability mechanisms across Pakistani universities. As part of this process, HEC representatives and consultants visited IoBM on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. The review focused on assessing governance structures, evaluating the functioning of statutory bodies, and developing a performance-based governance framework to categorize universities based on governance effectiveness.

IoBM’s Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) served as the focal department for the visit, ensuring coordination across various stakeholders. Senior leadership of IoBM, including President Mr Talib S. Karim, Rector Dr Tariq Rahim Soomro, Deans, Registrar, and heads of key departments such as QEC, Shahjehan S. Karim Incubation Centre (SSKIC), ORIC, Finance, HR, Student Affairs, faculty members, and student representatives, actively participated in the engagement.
