IRM Celebrates Inspiring Success Stories

The Institute of Rural Management (IRM) celebrated the educational journeys and achievements of students, teachers and vocational training graduates at an event titled “From Hope to Achievement: IRM Success Stories,” highlighting the transformative impact of education and skills development on individuals and communities.

Founder and Executive Director of Akhuwat Foundation Dr Amjad Saqib was the chief guest at the event, which was held at a local hotel, according to a press release issued on Monday.

The event brought together students and teachers from IRM SMART Schools, vocational training graduates and representatives of civil society to showcase how access to quality education and practical skills can open pathways to continued learning, employment and improved opportunities.

A major highlight of the event was the presentation of success stories by five IRM SMART School alumni, comprising three girls and two boys. The former students shared their educational experiences and achievements after transitioning from SMART Schools to government secondary schools.

Their stories demonstrated how timely access to education can help children overcome barriers, continue their studies and work towards their future aspirations.

The students also presented a welcome tableau and thematic performance emphasizing the importance of education and its role in transforming the lives of young people.

A documentary on the IRM SMART School initiative was screened during the event, featuring the organization’s Brick Kiln Schools Program and its efforts to expand educational opportunities for children living in communities where access to formal education remains challenging.

Selected IRM SMART School teachers also shared their professional journeys and experiences under the program. Their accounts highlighted the crucial role educators play in supporting students, strengthening learning environments and expanding educational opportunities within underserved communities.

The event also showcased IRM’s Vocational Training Program, with graduates sharing their personal experiences and achievements following completion of their training.

The vocational training segment highlighted the growing importance of technical and practical skills in creating avenues for personal development, employment and economic empowerment.

Addressing the gathering, distinguished guests stressed the need to expand access to education and skills development and create greater opportunities for young people across Pakistan.

They emphasized that education can serve as a powerful tool for transforming individuals and communities by enabling young people to build knowledge, develop skills and pursue more secure and productive futures.
