Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has announced a deadline of January 30 for students to apply for financial assistance for the upcoming Spring 2026 semester. Applicants must submit their forms at their nearest regional campus.
The university, which promotes affordable and flexible education nationwide, offers financial aid to support deserving and needy students. A separate deadline of January 23 has been set for returning students who received aid in the Autumn 2025 semester; they must reapply via the online Student Service Request system.
In a significant outreach effort, AIOU continues to provide completely free matriculation-level education to students from tribal districts, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Balochistan. This initiative is designed to bring schooling within reach for children in remote and underdeveloped regions.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Nasir Mahmood emphasized the university’s commitment to removing financial barriers to education. “We are ensuring no child is left behind due to economic constraints,” he stated. He described the financial aid and free education programs as crucial steps toward educational equality, empowering students from marginalized communities with the tools to build a brighter future.
