A delegation from the Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS) Pakistan, visited Shandong University (SDU), Weihai, to strengthen academic and research collaboration in marine and environmental sciences.
The LUAWMS team, led by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Abdul Malik, met with SDU representatives headed by Vice President Prof Dr Xia Lidong. The discussions centered on advancing cooperation in scientific research, academic exchanges, and capacity-building initiatives. Key figures in attendance included Prof Dr Illahi Bukhsh, Mr Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, and Prof Dr Muhammad Shafi from LUAWMS, along with Prof Dr Jiang Zhaoyang, Associate Dean of the Marine College, and Mr Liu Liang, Director of the International Office at SDU.
The initiative was made possible through the sustained efforts of Dr Muhsan Ali Kalhoro and Prof Dr Muhammad Shafi, who played a pivotal role in connecting the two institutions. The collaboration envisions joint research projects, scholarship opportunities for Pakistani students, and academic programs aimed at addressing global challenges in marine and environmental sciences.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to fostering scientific innovation and international partnerships. The meeting concluded with an agreement to formalize cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), expected to be signed in the near future, marking another step in strengthening China-Pakistan academic and research ties.
