LUMS to Host Conference on Green Productivity 2.0 in Lahore

Lahore is set to become a regional hub for sustainability and industrial innovation as the LUMS Energy Institute (LEI), in collaboration with Pakistan’s National Productivity Organization (NPO) and the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) Japan, prepares to host the International Conference on Green Productivity 2.0 (GP 2.0) on November 28–29, 2025.

The two-day event will welcome more than 80 international delegates from APO member countries across Asia and the Pacific, alongside senior experts and representatives from Pakistan’s public and private sectors. Delegates from 21 countries, including Italy, Japan, Thailand, China and Pakistan, will share expertise on sustainable development, circular economy models, and productivity-driven green transformation.

High-level participation from the Ministry of Industries and Production, the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), the Ministry of Petroleum, and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination will underline the government’s commitment to advancing the national Green Productivity 2.0 Vision. The conference will also spotlight the importance of academia–industry collaboration in fostering innovation, enhancing regional ties, and accelerating sustainable industrial growth.

The conference agenda includes thematic sessions on green hydrogen for industrial decarbonization, resource efficiency advancement, the role of financial institutions in supporting sustainable economic development, and ESG-aligned frameworks aimed at boosting productivity and competitiveness. Organizers expect the discussions to yield practical strategies and strengthen cooperation across the region in the field of green productivity.

LEI, recognized globally for its work in interdisciplinary research, policy development, and capacity building in sustainable energy and industrial transformation, will present its initiatives during the event. The forum will also highlight Pakistan’s progress in expanding renewable energy adoption, integrating clean technologies, and promoting innovation-led productivity improvements.
