In response to the relentless monsoon downpour, the Deputy Commissioner of Mansehra has ordered a two-day shutdown of all public and private educational institutions across the district. The closure, effective from August 18 to August 19, 2025, applies to all schools, including both boys’ and girls’ campuses.
The decision comes as heavy rains continue to batter the region, causing severe property damage and endangering lives—with schoolchildren at heightened risk. Authorities, after consulting with higher officials, prioritized student and staff safety in light of the worsening weather.
Meteorological officials have warned of more intense rainfall in the coming days, urging residents to stay vigilant and limit travel. The district administration is on high alert, monitoring the situation and advising citizens to heed weather updates and safety advisories.
