Pak-China Pact Paves Path for Next-Gen Technical Talent

In a landmark step to bolster educational cooperation between Pakistan and China, the Institute of Contemporary Studies (ICS) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tang Chinese Education Technology Ltd (TANG) to introduce modern technical education programs across Karachi.

The partnership, unveiled during the NAVTTC Job Fair at the Pak-China Friendship Centre in Islamabad, will roll out Matric Tech, Inter Tech, and NAVTTC-certified skill-based courses at 20 institutions in Karachi. These programs will be powered by TANG’s state-of-the-art laboratories, providing Pakistani youth access to globally competitive technical training.

The signing ceremony was attended by high-level dignitaries, including Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, Pakistan’s Federal Education Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and Chairperson of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), Ms Gulmina Bilal.

Ambassador Zaidong underscored the significance of skills development for socioeconomic progress, reaffirming China’s commitment to empowering Pakistani professionals through education and employment opportunities within Chinese enterprises, both domestically and overseas.

“This collaboration is not just about education — it’s about creating a skilled workforce that meets the demands of a rapidly evolving job market,” said Minister Siddiqui. “Equipping our youth with industry-relevant skills is essential for sustainable national growth.”
