Pakistan Becomes Education Hub for Sri Lankan Scholars

Pakistan has welcomed another group of 30 Sri Lankan students who have arrived to pursue higher education at leading universities under the fully funded Allama Iqbal Scholarships for Sri Lankan Students, reinforcing growing academic ties between the two countries.

The students landed at Allama Iqbal International Airport, where they were received by representatives from prominent institutions, including the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Government College University Lahore, and Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology.

The scholarship initiative is part of the Pak–Sri Lanka Higher Education Cooperation Programme and is administered by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The programme aims to enhance academic collaboration, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Earlier this week, another group of 25 Sri Lankan students arrived in Pakistan to pursue MBBS degrees, indicating a steady influx of international students under the initiative. With the latest arrivals, more than 430 Sri Lankan students are currently enrolled in various disciplines across Pakistan’s leading universities.
