Pakistan Launches Knowledge Corridor with Bangladesh

Pakistan has unveiled an ambitious educational partnership with Bangladesh through the launch of the “Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor,” a groundbreaking initiative aimed at strengthening academic and professional ties between the two South Asian nations.

Under this flagship program, Pakistan will offer 500 scholarships to Bangladeshi students over the next five years, with 25 percent of these opportunities reserved for medical studies. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) officials described the move as a significant investment in human capital development and a step toward promoting regional academic excellence.

The initiative extends beyond student scholarships, including specialized training for 100 Bangladeshi civil servants within the same period. This component seeks to enhance administrative skills, promote knowledge sharing, and support governance reforms.

The program also significantly expands the Pakistan Technical Assistance Program, increasing scholarships for Bangladeshi students fivefold—from just 5 to 25 positions annually—reflecting the rising demand for technical education and professional training opportunities.

“This initiative reflects Pakistan’s deep commitment to strengthening people-to-people connections and building lasting cooperation with Bangladesh through education and professional development,” a senior government spokesperson said.

In addition to scholarships and training, the Knowledge Corridor aims to establish long-term institutional linkages between universities and training institutes of both countries. Future collaborations may include joint research projects, faculty exchanges, and academic partnerships.
