Pakistan Stands with Palestine Through Education Initiative

In a landmark move to bolster educational cooperation and express solidarity with Palestine, the federal government has launched a major initiative offering higher education opportunities for Palestinian students in Pakistan.

The announcement was made by the Minister for Federal Education (MoFEPT) Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui during the inauguration of the first Palestine-Pakistan Vice Chancellors Forum held at the COMSTECH Secretariat on Thursday.

Under the program, the Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH), the ministerial committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), will provide 5,000 fellowships to Palestinian students, enabling them to pursue higher education across universities in Pakistan.

Highlighting the initiative as a tangible expression of Pakistan’s steadfast support for the people of Palestine, Dr Siddiqui emphasized the importance of education in nation-building and resilience. He further noted that Pakistan is simultaneously working to enhance human resource development in Gaza through specialized programs, including BLSO Trauma Management Courses and technical training initiatives.

“This is a real effort to build human resources in Gaza,” Dr Siddiqui stated. “Pakistan stands by Palestine, not just in words but through concrete action.”
